She Balls Together Clumps of Baking Soda. What She Makes is SERIOUSLY useful!

Although it is an inevitable task, we all detest cleaning the toilet. Moreover, Jess Kielman, author of the Mom 4 Real website, is probably right in saying that the only kind of toilet cleaning that she would do is one which does not require too much effort. Therefore, she decided to solve this issue, and came up with a recipe for the so called Toilet Cleaning Bombs. According to her, only several of these tablets in the toilet will do wonders on their own. Therefore, do not hesitate but try out the recipe and be satisfied with the end result- clean and fresh toilet. For the preparation, you will need:

  • Water
  • Baking soda
  • Citric acid
  • Lemon essential oil
  • Lavender essential oil
  • Peppermint essential oil

Preparation:

Mix all the ingredients, besides the water. After the mixture is prepared, spray water, previously poured in a spray bottle, onto the mixture, gradually. When the mixture is moistened enough so that you can form a ball, stop spraying. Take an ice cube tray and fill in the spots with the mixture and wait. Every hour or so, remove the ones risen and fill up the empty spots as long as there is mixture left (this depends on the amount of ingredients included in the recipe). Leave them overnight, and then store them in an airtight container.

Use:

Each week, drop one or two tablets in the toilet and let them do their job for 30 minutes. If the toilet still needs scrubbing, scrub and flush after the 30 minutes are over. The entire recipe can be found at Kielman’s website.

Baking soda is both a cheap and an amazingly useful cleaning product. You can use it in numerous cases, from scrub burned-on food from pans and pots, to cleaning pet accidents from carpets. What’s more, it is also great for removal of stains from coffee when a dishwasher is not helpful. Its absorption of odors and the abrasiveness make it an indispensible tool of every household.

Do you know other uses of baking soda, besides the culinary ones? If so, share them in the comments section below, and if you find this article useful, do not forget to share it with everyone.
