How to Whiten Yellowish Pillows

Pillows are our companions when we sleep and a lot of people get quite attached to their favorite pillows. However, with time, white pillows tend to change their color and become yellowish, which is very unpleasant to watch and sleep on. If you’ve tried washing them, probably, their whiteness hasn’t been restored and you’re stuck with a yellowish pillow. What can you do?

One thing you could do is use a hypoallergenic pillow; however, they may still develop stains. What if we tell you that there is a practical method that can help you restore the whiteness of your pillows and increase their freshness, regardless of what kind of pillow you have? Afterwards, your pillows will literally look as if you’ve recently bought them.

Here’s what you will need:

A cup of laundry detergent

A cup of powdered dishwasher agent

A cup of bleach

Half a cup of borax

What to do:

First, make sure that your pillow can be washed in a machine. If this is so, fill the machine with one third of hot water. Next, add the ingredients and run the machine through a hot cycle. When the washing is done, you will have white, bright, and fresh pillows.

Note: If you wash more than one pillow, make sure you space the pillows evenly in order to avoid imbalance.
